Department of Cell Biology and Biochemistry

My research focuses on one of the most fundamental processes in biology—protein synthesis (translation)—and how cells regulate this process to adapt to stress, development, and disease. My work combines molecular biology, biochemistry, genome engineering, and cell biology to understand how the translational machinery maintains accuracy while remaining flexible enough to respond to changing cellular conditions.
